Some events can be stressful and many runners have doubts before events on whether they can complete the distance or cover a specific distance in a certain time. Road Block Run on 13th September should be anything but stressful!
The event contains exciting but unintimidating obstacles. Many runners complete the event in fancy dress and the main ethos of the event is to encourage runners to have fun, test their fitness and raise money for Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland.
The course is 7km long but no-one should worry about the distance as time will pass by very quickly when you are focusing on completing the next obstacle. There is a strong social element to the event with loads of people entering with colleagues and friends.
Run 4 It has supported this event for a few years now and provides prizes for the event. The event takes place in Holyrood Park which is a brilliant venue for an event like this as it is easy to get to and incredibly scenic. The event is growing in popularity year on year which is testament to how well organised it is.
Completing an event like this requires some varied training so you are prepared for the different obstacles. As a result, training for different eventualities should be anything but monotonous. Even if your race doesn’t go quite to plan on the day, many people will benefit from the money you have raised for charity.
