The Pitfichie trails are well renowned for their unforgiving nature, and the Monymusk Half Marathon on 25th October pulls no punches as it takes participants over the toughest that the trails can offer. When a club such named “Cosmic Hillbashers” names its event as “Hilly” then you know you are in for a tough day out!
The event has run for the past 2 years now, and encourages runners of all abilities to take in its course. Taking place in the small village of Monymusk, and offering home-baked delicacies and cakes after the event, the race has the excellent vibe of a local, well-run event but also encouraging a high standard, with previous participants having run for Scotland in trail championships.
At a bargain price of £11, and with no cap on entries, this is a fantastic event to try out if you are looking to really challenge yourself over Aberdeenshire trails this October.
